At the heart of Petaling Street, Junk Café a popular gastropub originally from Penang set off its second outlet.
Junk Café promises to bring its delectable signature burgers, unique ambiance, and live music selection of reggae, ska, dub, and roots.
As their outlet is known for its eclectic menu featuring a fusion of flavours, all crafted with a creative twist, from hearty cuisine to tantalizing coffees and cocktails.
Don Nelamegam, the co-owner of the Junk Café tells Press KL, they have almost 70 percent of foreign travelers visit their outlet.
Besides having foreign tourists, we also have good support from the locals and frequent clubgoers, Don mentioned.
“Everyone who walks in, they are mesmerized by the ambiance, and the setup.
“We explain to our patrons the antique collector’s items placed around this outlet.
“We also do have the authenticity certificate of the collectors’ items, as patrons get to learn the different heritage showcased in our outlet,” said Don.
Don rose ranks from a waiter to a successful entrepreneur with more than 20 years of experience in the food and beverage business.
Don started as a waiter in Penang, then moved to Singapore to work in the Food and Beverage industry later back to Malaysia continuing his journey at Valiram Group before starting Junk Café with his partners.
He also empowers the young generation interested in starting cafes, and gastropub business to give their soul and heart to the business to ensure continued success.
Four individuals jointly manage the Junk Café, Don Nelamagam heads the operations, Jay in Marketing, Culinary Head Amresh, and Neyvin is the Art Collector and Designer, as well as other staff.
