Hong Kong — The 2024 Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants Awards ceremony was held today (March 26) in Seoul, South Korea announcing the 50 most influential and best restaurants in Asia this year.
Wynn Palace’s new conceptual restaurant, Chef Tam’s Seasons, which opened less than a year ago, is selected as “The Best Restaurant in Macau 2024” under the leadership of Executive Chef Tam Kwok Fung, becoming the only restaurant in Macau to receive this prestigious recognition.
On the eve of the awards ceremony (March 25), Wynn hosted a cocktail party in Seoul, bringing together culinary masters for an evening of multicultural gastronomy.
Chef Tam’s Seasons’ Executive Chef Tam Kwok Fung presented Cantonese cuisine, while Chef Thitid “Ton” Tassanakajohn (Chef Ton), Executive Chef and owner of Le Du and Nusara in Bangkok, Thailand joined hands with renowned Korean Restaurateur Bitterpan to prepare Thai-Korean fusion canapes.
Wynn invited industry professionals and international media to this celebratory event to stimulate conversations between Macau and international culinary industry leaders, further advancing Macau’s prestigious UNESCO-designated status as a “Creative City of Gastronomy” as well as World Center of Tourism and Leisure.
Cantonese Master Chef Tam Kwok Fung is the mastermind behind Chef Tam’s Seasons, the new conceptual restaurant at Wynn Palace that opened last year. Through his seasonal degustation menus, Chef Tam carefully curates the ingredients for each dish based on micro-changes in regional climate.
The seasonal delicacies for each dish are prepared in accordance with time to carefully harmonize the five flavors, and Chef Tam’s philosophy of the 24 solar terms pays tribute to the traditions of Chinese culture.
At his restaurant, Chef Tam remains committed toward carrying on the legacy and authenticity of Cantonese cuisine with a blend of East and West, while also introducing contemporary concepts and techniques to add even greater vitality to traditional Cantonese cuisine.
The restaurant has been gaining recognition since it opened and has recently been awarded its first MICHELIN star.
Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants presents a list of the 50 most influential and best restaurants in Asia each year, and is considered to be one of the most prestigious culinary awards events in Asia. Wynn’s recognition by Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants is testament to the company’s continuous efforts to propel Chinese cuisine to the global stage, showcasing the exceptional dining experiences on offer in Macau.
