Sarawak’s Tourism Charms showcased at Vietnam International Travel Mart (VITM) 2024

HO CHI MINH CITY- Malaysia Tourism Promotion Board (Tourism Malaysia) in Vietnam together with the Embassy of Malaysia in Hanoi, participated in the Vietnam International Travel Mart (VITM) 2024.

The event held from 11th to 14th April 2024, at the International Center for Exhibition (ICE) in Hanoi.

Others joining together during the promotion will be the Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry & Performing Arts (MTCP) Sarawak, Malaysia Aviation Group, National Association of Private Educational Institutions of Malaysia (NAPEI), Resorts World Genting, Ibis Kuala Lumpur City Centre and Columbia Leisure.

VITM Hanoi 2024 returns with the theme “Tourism—Green for Sustainable Development,” emphasising responsible tourism associated with environmental protection for sustainable development.

This year, Tourism Malaysia will cooperate with critical partners to introduce Vietnamese tourists to potential destinations many have not yet discovered.

During the four-day event, the colours of Malaysia were unveiled through performances of Sarawak Cultural Dance and Sape Performance, fun quiz activities to learn more about the country, and Teh Tarik Tea Pulling Art by a Malaysian chef.

Visitors will also be offered exclusive Malaysia Airlines promotions.

“VITM 2024 presents a valuable opportunity to promote Malaysia’s rich cultural and ecological tourism offerings,” said Madam Nor Hayati Zainuddin, Director of Tourism Malaysia in Vietnam.

Tourism Malaysia also shares updates on the latest tourism products and destinations such as Sarawak.

This is the largest state on the island of Borneo, also known as the “Land of the Hornbills,” a bird species listed in the Red Book. Sarawak also harnesses pristine beauty, like the Mulu cave, home to over 40 ethnic groups with distinct customs and practices awaiting to be discovered by Vietnamese tourists.

At the event, Tourism Malaysia bags two awards which are “Impressive Booth” and “Attractive Activities” awarded by Vietnam Tourism Association (VITA), the organizer of VITM Hanoi 2024.

On April 10, in conjunction with VITM Hanoi 2024, Tourism Malaysia organised the Malaysia Tourism Seminar at the Lotte Hotel Hanoi.

All the organisations and travel companies mentioned previously were in attendance.

The seminar’s goal was to provide an overview of the dynamic Malaysian tourism market and feature the latest tourism products.

With the expectation of attracting 27.3 million foreign tourists to Malaysia in 2024, Tourism Malaysia in Vietnam believes that participating in VITM Hanoi 2024 will be an ideal opportunity to introduce new destinations, diverse cultures, and unique natural wonders of Malaysia to gear up for Visit Malaysia 2026.

Tourism Malaysia’s booth, located at C10-13, offers unique cultural performances of Malaysian culture, appealing promotions, and activities to learn more about the colourful country.
