Let’s face it—one of the most tedious parts of doing laundry is folding clothes afterward. Many of us would rather avoid this task and do almost anything else. But for some, this mundane chore has turned into a lucrative business, allowing them to earn significant amounts of money.
Recently, a viral post on X (formerly known as Twitter) revealed that people can make up to RM7,000 a month simply by folding clothes.
An X user, @TemahUluBanat, shared a post with a screenshot detailing how people are profiting from folding laundry. The caption read,
“Laundry folding business. Many can wash clothes, but not everyone has the patience to fold them! Haha. We should open one of these next to self-service laundromats.”
In the screenshot, a woman described how she earns between RM500 and RM700 by folding clothes just three times a week. She added that their top agent in the past month had earned over RM7,000 by securing folding contracts with homestays.
The post has since garnered over 400,000 views, with many netizens sharing their thoughts—some even expressing interest in starting their own laundry-folding businesses.
With demand rising for this service, it’s clear that even seemingly simple tasks like folding clothes can become high-paying jobs.
