Popular singer Amir Masdi, who rose to fame through a reality TV show, has launched his highly anticipated second album AM, following the success of his self-titled debut album last year.
His first album sold out after three reprints, and AM is expected to further elevate his position as one of the country’s top male artists.
The album features 12 tracks, reflecting a wide range of emotions and life experiences. Amir collaborated with renowned producer Edry Abdul Halim, not only showcasing his vocal prowess but also his skills as a songwriter and co-producer.
The recording process took place at Volta Lab Studios in Manchester, United Kingdom, marking a special journey for Amir and his team.
Amir, 28, explained that AM represents both his name, Amir Masdi (AM), and Project Manchester (PM), where the album was produced. The time zone differences between Malaysia and the UK during the production phase also inspired the album’s title.
The first half of the album, featuring six tracks, including “Luar Kotak” and “Nur Cinta,” is being released in October, while the second half will follow next year. The album was promoted with billboards along major highways and exclusive merchandise.
In addition, the song “Nur Cinta” has been selected as the main OST for the drama ‘Andai Tiada Di’a, set to air on Astro Ria. The album was launched at Hard Rock Cafe Kuala Lumpur on October 12, 2024, and the music video for “Nur Cinta” premieres the same day on YouTube.
