Off-Road Thrills: Peninsular Safari Challenge Revvs Up in Putrajaya

The adrenaline-fueled world of extreme motorsport is back on track as the Peninsular Safari Challenge (PSC) 2025 storms into Precinct 6, Putrajaya this weekend with heart-pounding action, rugged machines, and family-friendly festivities.

From Aug 15 to 17, more than 100 powerful 4×4 vehicles will take on the semi-finals for the central zone, battling through mud, rocks, and treacherous terrain in an ultimate test of endurance and skill.

The high-octane event, part of the PSC & Truck Fiesta Putrajaya, is expected to draw over 10,000 visitors, offering not just extreme off-road challenges but also lifestyle attractions such as food festivals, live entertainment, and auto showcases.

Nizam Bin Abdullah @ TENGAS (President, Trekker X Venture).

President of the Malaysian Four-Wheel Drive Association (MFWDA), Mohd Khairol Nizam Mohd Ibrahim Khan, said this year’s edition is the most exciting yet, with new elements added to the mix.

“We have about 100 vehicles competing, including 30 short-wheelbase, 40 long-wheelbase, and a new pickup truck category to attract fresh talent. Women’s participation is also growing, with 10 female drivers joining the challenge compared to only three last year,” he said.

Unlike previous years, PSC 2025 is designed to thrill not just competitors but the entire community. Visitors can enjoy pickup truck races, extreme drift shows, Remote Control 4×4 Challenges, and even a campervan zone.

The Karnival Lepak Putrajaya adds a lifestyle touch with food trucks, local delicacies, and chill-out spots, making it a perfect outing for families.

Local stars including Man Raja Lawak, Zul Handyblack, and Acap Fine will keep the entertainment rolling, while automotive influencers bring social media buzz live from the event.

PSC 2025 is powered by Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia and Eon Auto Mart, who are bringing exclusive experiences for visitors. Mitsubishi is showcasing its 4×4 muscle through on-site demonstrations of performance and safety technology, while Eon Auto Mart offers special service deals and accessories for enthusiasts.

Federal Territories Youth and Sports Department director Sabran Abd Bahar lauded the initiative, saying it aligns with the Ministry of Youth and Sports’ vision to develop extreme sports and nurture local talent.

“Motorsports is recognised under the Sports Development Act, and events like PSC are crucial to building sportsmanship and discovering new talent,” he said.

The PSC & Truck Fiesta runs daily from 9am to 11pm, and admission is free.

After Putrajaya, the series will conclude with a grand finale in Kuala Nerus, Terengganu, on Aug 28 and 29.

“We want everyone to come and experience the thrill. It’s not just for motorsport fans but it’s a family event with something for everyone,” Khairol added.

PSC is organised by MFWDA and Trekker X Venture, supported by Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia and Eon Auto Mart, all committed to driving Malaysia’s automotive culture forward.
