A night of timeless qawwalis and soulful melodies awaits Malaysian fans this November as world-renowned maestro Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan returns to Kuala Lumpur, this time sharing the stage with his son, Shahzaman Ali Khan, in a historic father-and-son performance.
The highly anticipated concert will take place on Nov 1, 2025, at the Idea Live Arena, 3 Damansara.
The concert marks the first time Malaysian audiences will witness the continuation of the Khan dynasty’s legacy live on stage, bringing together two generations of artistry rooted in the spiritual and musical traditions of the late Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan.
With over three decades of global success, Rahat is celebrated for his ability to blend traditional qawwali with contemporary Bollywood sounds, enchanting millions with classics such as O Re Piya (Aaja Nachle), Teri Meri (Bodyguard), Mann Ki Lagan (Paap), Afreen Afreen (Coke Studio), and Dil To Bachcha Hai Ji (Ishqiya).
Shahzaman, following in his father’s footsteps, now represents the future of the Khan family tradition, adding fresh energy and youthful resonance to the genre while keeping the soul of qawwali alive for new audiences.
In April this year, Rahat delivered a sold-out performance in Singapore, captivating more than 5,000 fans at The Star Theatre with a three-hour set of qawwalis, Bollywood favourites and ghazals.
